Two years after the release of his instrumental disc, Voyou is back in song with “Les Royaumes minuscules”, his new album to be released this Friday, February 24.
Little nothings that come to life in the depths of the eyes, sings Voyou on the song Soleil Soleil, accompanied by November Ultra, female revelation of the latest Victoires de la musique: this is how Thibaud Vanhooland’s new album, Les Royaumes minuscules, could be summed up in out this Friday, February 24. Overflowing with soul and mischief, Voyou sings of the sensuality of Two Birds, the little habits of Insects, but also disappointed love in Winter, or the stifling heat in Rainfall. As a backdrop to his texts, his usual trumpet, but also a number of basses and percussion, violins, flutes or piano.
This heat, Voyou went to get it in Brazil, where he recorded these languorous rhythms which are dear to him. Two years after an instrumental disc, Land Chronicles Vol.1, he returns to this new album with eleven sung pieces, telling as many Tiny Kingdoms. Carried by the singles L’hiver and Soleil Soleil, with November Ultra, this new project confirms Voyou’s love for short stories, joyful, endearing or melancholic, but always sweet and written.
On the occasion of the release of the album Les Royaumes minuscules, Voyou lent itself to the game of Linternaute’s Playlist and reveals itself there in music (the video is at the top of this article and in the publication below -above).
