“After Supernatural finished its 15th season, it was clear that the show wasn’t over. We say that “nothing ever really ends” in the show’s 15th season. In June 2021, Ackles spoke to Deadline about a possible sequel. “When Dannel [Ackles] and I founded Chaos Machine Productions we knew that the first story we wanted was the story about John and Mary Winchester or the Supernatural birth story. My character Dean would have loved to know more about the relationship between his parents and how it came about. It is a wonderful idea to have him accompany us on this journey.

The dark fantasy series aired between 2005 and 2020. There were multiple spinoffs , including the backdoor pilot for Bloodlines as well as the Wayward Sisters series pitch. However, neither of these ventures succeeded.

The CW confirmed in February 2022 that they had given The Winchesters a pilot-order.

The synopsis states that the show will be about the “epic, untold love story” of John and Mary, and how they risk everything to save their love.

The CW has not yet ordered a pilot for the series. The Winchesters must get a series order once filming is complete in order to air episodes.

After Padalecki raised concerns about the spinoff, the Gilmore Girls alumni offered an update on and where Jensen stands.

While Padalecki is not yet attached to the project, he remains on The CW. His series walker is now in its second season. A pilot order was also given to a prequel series in February 2022.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Millie was cast in March 2022 as the mother of Rodger Winchester’s John Winchester. Millie is described by being a tough, hardworking parent who is concerned about John’s plans to live in danger while hunting and saving people.
