OPEN STORE. This Friday, July 14, 2023, most supermarkets in France, shopping centers and department stores in Paris remain open. But which stores are closed on this holiday? We take stock.

Bastille Day marks a public holiday in France, and it’s in the middle of the summer sales, but that doesn’t stop all shopping. In Paris, the Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais department stores remain open. Just like, on the shopping center side, the Carrousel du Louvre, Bercy Village, the Beaugrenelle Center, the Italy 2 Center, the Citadium Caumartin, the Palais des Congrès or the Passy Plaza.

All (many) outlying malls are also open. Across mainland France, several major brands welcome customers as usual, with often slightly different hours and sometimes variable depending on the locality. This list includes Auchan, Carrefour and Carrefour Market, Intermarché, Leclerc, Cora and Géant Casino. These supermarkets also specify their opening procedures on their websites.

Supermarkets such as Monoprix, Carrefour, Auchan are exceptionally open throughout France. Attention, for Leclerc brands, the opening is done on a case-by-case basis depending on the city (find out beforehand on the site of the nearby brand).
