The 40-year old actress, while teasing her new CBS holiday movie Christmas Takes Flight to PEOPLE reflected on her time on Scandal as Quinn Perkins.
The series, created by Shonda Rhimes, ended in 2018, after seven seasons. It starred Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a former media advisor to the president (Tony Goldwyn), who leaves her position to create her own crisis management firm. Despite trying to get rid of her past White House ties, she finds herself constantly entangled in politics.
The ABC drama also featured Bellamy Young and Scott Foley. Guillermo Diaz, Darby Stchfield, Jeff Perry and Joshua Malina. Joe Morton and George Newbern were also stars.
Lowes reveals to PEOPLE which storylines Quinn is most shocking, as she looks back at the series.
“Everything. I mean, oh, gosh. Huck (Diaz) took out my teeth. Being a skilled spy and killer. When Papa Pope kidnapped me and put me under, and I had a child. Lowes says, “When I was married to Charlie (Newbern).” “It was so many times that I was confused at the table readings. “
Lowes doesn’t like Quinn storylines, but she has fond memories of her time on the series.
She shares that there are too many amazing memories. Kerry Washington directed the episode when Kerry Washington was 8 weeks old. This was the first time that I brought my son to set. Lowes claims that Scandal’s cast is still her closest friend. She says, “They’re some my best friends in all of the world.”
Two-year-old mom adds that “we have something called Scandal family, and it is really true.” We are a very hardcore family. We are on a WhatsApp chain together with all of our significant others. We send each other text messages daily. Birthdays, congratulations, and just hanging out. We also have reunions. We are just very close.”
Lowes was able to collaborate with Rhimes again in Inventing Anna, 51. The Netflix miniseries will follow the true story of Anna Delvey, a.k.a. Anna Sorokin, a woman who claimed to be a wealthy German heiress was ultimately convicted of fraud after concocting many.
“This is an incredible story. Just imagine what you can do when an incredible true story meets with the greatest writer of all time,” Lowes, who plays Rachel, says. It is so juicy. It was so easy to watch the scripts and ingest it. It’s going to be a wild ride, you guys.

Fans will need to wait until next season to stream Inventing Anna but they can still watch Lowes’ star in Christmas Takes Flight this Sunday.
Lowes plays pilot Jenny Beckett (televised film), who fights to save her family’s airline’s holiday benefit for children with special needs. After Matt Connor (Evan Williams), the CEO of the airline, the legacy of this charitable event is under threat. However, Jenny falls for Matt despite his contradictory motives.
Lowes said that she was intrigued by the film because of Jenny, her “badass”, character.
“She’s strong. She is a single mother. She owns a business. She is a pilot. “I read that only 1 per cent of pilots are women,” Katie Crib host says. She is also preparing to star with Pete Holmes in the sitcom How We Roll.
As a mother, I felt connected to her. Because I own a business, I felt connected with her when she was running it. She is loyal to her father, her younger brother, and her family’s legacy. Lowes says, “I just felt like her cool as hell.”
