The event film directed by Greta Gerwig, in theaters this Wednesday, July 19, is based on an unprecedented, powerful promotional campaign, which also includes the announcement of musical collaborations that have never been seen before. For its soundtrack, the creators of the Barbie movie have recruited the biggest stars of the moment, from Billie Eilish to Nicki Minaj, via Charli XCX, Dua Lipa and… Aqua, to whom we owe the immortal hit Barbie Girl, originally released in 1997.
The Barbie movie soundtrack has been compiled into an official playlist, posted this Wednesday, July 19 on the Spotify listening platform. There are 24 songs, including, inevitably, What Was I Made For?, unveiled last week by Billie Eilish, but also, we were just talking about it, Barbie Girl, Aqua’s planetary hit.
Also included in the Barbie soundtrack are songs created for the film, such as Speed ??Drive by Charli XCX or Dance The Night by Dua Lipa, but also covers of songs already released, such as Independent Women by Destiny’s Child, Stayin’ Alive by Bee Gees or Lady Marmalade, from the musical Moulin Rouge, performed by Christina Aguilera and Take My Breath Away, from the Top Gun soundtrack.
