“I wasn’t aware of the lack of diversity in Friends,” says the actor. “I’ve been used to with my character in Ross’s relationship with non-white women.”
“One of the first friends Ross, the show had an Asian background. After that, my character is in a relationship with a woman with African roots,” adds the 52-year-old American to continue. “I do it quite deliberately pushed through.”
According to the critics, the jarennegentigcomedy Friends is not diverse enough. Thus, the former cast members Aisha Tyler, and Cosimo Fusco, the lack of non-white characters in 2019 is “unrealistic”.
