IPHONE. Please note, you will soon no longer be able to buy these iPhones on the French-speaking market. Apple would have banned them from sale. We explain why.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 15 are open, but one news often hides another. It was immediately announced during the 2023 keynote: Apple would have decided to remove certain products from its catalog for commercial and legal reasons. Jean-Noël Barrot, the Minister of Digital Affairs, would even consider ordering the recall of the latter. At least, if Apple does not comply with certain compliances.
Among the two phones withdrawn from sale, we find the iPhone 12, which was until then still marketed in France. The reason ? Waves too “powerful” according to the ANFR (Agence Nationale des Frequencies). The agency specifies, however, that the levels observed are still far from the dangerous thresholds for humans. Recently, the ANFR gave more details.
If Apple accepts the conditions imposed by the ANFR, then the IPhone 12 should be marketed again shortly on approved e-commerce sites. It remains to be seen what decision the Cupertino company will adopt given the age of this model.
Another Apple phone has also been quietly removed from the company’s catalog. The iPhone 13 mini has disappeared from Apple’s sales sites. A common thing at Apple, which withdraws some of its old models from sale following the announcement of new ones.
