Manufacturers are constantly offering new features for our smartphones. The latest one can radically make your life easier by detecting symbols and pictograms that you may not know.
The camera on your smartphone evolves from year to year. Manufacturers have understood that the lenses of our phones can be used for many purposes in addition to being able to take pretty photos on a daily basis. This has been the case for several years on Android and iOS devices, with multiple updates adding new features to the “camera” applications on our phones.
The latest updates to the iPhone are one of the new features that add new capabilities to the camera. The iOS 17 update, released a few months ago on the most recent iPhones, has a well-hidden feature that could make your everyday life easier!
Quite similar to Google Lens on the Android side, the new iPhone update now allows you to identify symbols that you might ignore. Several iPhone users demonstrated this using the labels on our clothing. These are full of little symbols that can be difficult to interpret… Until today!
To do this, simply take a photo of the label on one of your clothes. Take care that the latter is clearly visible to your iPhone and that the photo has good brightness. Once the photo has been taken, go to the photo options and tap on the little “i” symbol which will provide you with a lot of information about the photo in question. You will find in particular the day and time the photo was taken, but also a new section called “laundry care”. This allows you to know how to take care of your clothing.
Note, however, that this option is currently not available in French. You will therefore need to change your iPhone to English in its settings to benefit from it.
