Filippo Ganna wins the time trial of the 10th stage ahead of Remco Evenepoel, Sepp Kuss keeps his leader’s jersey

On this 25.8 kilometer rolling time in the streets of Valladolid promised to specialists, Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) won in 27’39, ahead of all the favorites in the General Classification. Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), with his World Exercise Champion jersey, was the only one able to compete with the Italian, but fell short in second place, 16 seconds away. Leader of the general before this stage, Sepp Kuss, without much reference on the flat timed events, limited the damage by finishing 13th at 1’29 and keeps his red tunic in front of Marc Soler. Frenchman Lenny Martinez (Groupama FDJ), 30th and 2’29 behind Ganna, retains a place in the General’s Top 10.

Among the other favourites, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma) had a very good time, 35 seconds behind Ganna and only 20 behind Remco Evenepoel, while his teammate Jonas Vingegaard was disappointing and finished 1’17 from the winner. The Spaniards Mikel Landa (Bahrain Victorious) and Enric Mas (Movistar Team) are, unsurprisingly, the big losers of today’s stage, as they lose more than 2 minutes and 1’46 respectively. Finally, Joao Almeida ( UAE Team Emirates) finished 49 seconds behind the winner and outperformed teammate Juan Ayuso, who was relegated 1’11 behind.
