AJ Auxerre can thank him. Led by the score for a large part of the match, the Burgundian team lacked efficiency in front of goal for a long time, notably stumbling over the very good Paul Bernardoni. The entry into play of Gaëtan Perrin shortly after the hour mark changed the match. In the last minutes of regulation time, the Auxerre winger – perfectly served by Birama Touré – played with Miguel Trauco before unleashing a powerful strike with the left foot which deceived the vigilance of the Saint-Etienne goalkeeper. A great achievement that allows his team to snatch the draw.
He put the Greens on the right track. On a quickly played transition, the Saint-Etienne midfielder, well offset by Adil Aouchiche, Zaydou Youssouf opened the scoring quarter of an hour into the game with a splendid curled shot from the left foot which came to lodge in the back of the net of Donovan Leon. A magnificent inspiration which ultimately did not allow ASSE to leave the Abbé-Deschamps stadium with victory. The Stéphanois came out quickly in the second period (54th), replaced by the young Lucas Gourna-Douath.

Flops
He didn’t have a great game. While his team had been leading in the score for the quarter of an hour of play, Mickaël Nadé showed signs of feverishness, especially in the second half, and particularly in the last minutes of play. Uncomfortable in certain duels, he was also in difficulty with the ball at his feet, in the recovery. A meeting to forget for the young Saint-Etienne, who has shown in the past that he was capable of performing much better.
For Miguel Trauco, it’s not much better. Little in sight offensively, the Peruvian was put in difficulty on the defensive level by the power, liveliness and technique of the various attackers from Auxerre who came to face him on his left side. It is also he who is eliminated by Gaëtan Perrin on the equalization of the Burgundian formation. If he is not the only culprit, his share of responsibility remains important since he left a lot of space to his direct opponent. He will have to do better this Sunday to help the Greens stay in the top flight.
