WhatsApp has become one of the most popular instant messaging apps across the world. It is therefore the main means of communication for millions of people. The announcement that the application will no longer work on certain smartphones is therefore a real concern.

It has indeed been announced that as of Friday, September 1 this year, all smartphones running Android 4.0.1 or iOS 12, or earlier versions, will no longer be compatible with WhatsApp.

Over time, the operating system or app updates are no longer compatible with some smartphones. This is why these phones have problems using them or the application simply does not open anymore. Thus, WhatsApp will no longer be available on all of the devices below from September 1, 2023.

If you are wondering why the app will no longer work on your smartphone, the answer is simple. In many cases, the operating system becomes “obsolete” in the face of updates. The storage capacity is full, the internet speed is not sufficient, or the hardware is reaching its operating limit.
