Arash Derambarsh is accused by the disciplinary board of the prestigious university having copied on other authors of large passages of his dissertation on law.
The university Paris I-Pantheon Sorbonne, she agreed to deliver his diploma to a student, in spite of a thesis consisting of countless copy-pasting? Last Tuesday, the disciplinary committee of the academic council of the institution has in any case decided in this sense, as reported in the World in a survey published on Monday.

A phd thesis in law, sustained, and validated in 2015 by Arash Derambarsh, would have been largely plagiarised by the author, indicates the Board, after a thorough investigation, summarized in a 40 pages. The instance university has decided to the cancellation of the event for the oral presentation of the thesis concerned”, which involves the “de-facto withdrawal of the doctoral degree in law,” says The World. Its author, who has refused to recognize such a plagiarism, will be excluded permanently from any public institution of higher education.

“Copiers-pasting”
Elected in Courbevoie since 2014 and media personality, Arash Derambarsh has attracted the attention of some observers on social networks, for his phd thesis in 2015, titled “Files of police, a legal framework and societal in an environment that is “controversial”.
In February, a Twitter account, anonymous called “Thesis and synthesis”, denounces and multiple passages copied and not sourced in the thesis of the young man, considering that 92 % of this last was a matter of simple “Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V”.
In its judgment, the disciplinary committee of Paris I, too, is without appeal : “The manuscript of thesis Arash Derambarsh is almost entirely composed of an assemblage of texts, produced in an academic context or published by other authors than himself, and copied by one or more of the processes plagiaires aiming to increase the reader that Arash Derambarsh is the author,” writes the organization.

While the author denounces to the World a “conspiracy”, it has also indicated that it would appeal the decision to the national Council of higher education and research. His counsel, mr. Yassine Bouzrou, regretted the non-compliance with “fundamental rights” of his client, and accused the university of having rejected “the testimonies which have been provided to prove his good faith”.

For The Sorbonne, the stakes are high : the disciplinary committee suspects including the jury-of-convenience. According to The World, many irregularities are raised, in particular concerning the composition of the jury, whose specialties are not in proximity with the subject of the thesis. The links with the phd student would be called into question : one of the members of the jury presided over a cultural association in Courbevoie, while another has seen his work published by Arash Derambarsh in 2011. No member of the jury indicates currently have detected a such plagiarism.
