The former Justice minister Pascal Clement died on Sunday in Paris at the age of 75 years, died of a lung infection, has announced his family.
“This morning, Sunday, June 21, the former keeper of the Seals and former mp of the Loire, died at Paris, at the Pitié Salpêtrière hospital, of a lung infection,” said his family, stating that Pascal Clement had been tested negative at Covid-19.

Pascal Clement, a father of four children, had been keeper of the Seals and minister of Justice, between 2005 and 2007 under former president Jacques Chirac. The former member of the UDF and UMP had also served as minister delegate for Relations with the national Assembly in the government of Edouard Balladur from 1993 to 1995, under the presidency of François Mitterrand.
President of the general council of the Loire from 1994 to 2008, he was chairman of the law commission of the national Assembly between 2002 and 2005.
