SENEGAL – ALGERIA. Two great African nations face each other this evening in a friendly match. TV broadcast, predictions… Discover all the information on this clash between the Lions of Téranga and the Fennecs.

Already qualified for CAN 2023 which will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, Senegal and Algeria face each other this Tuesday evening in a friendly match at the summit. This gala poster brings together the last two nations to win the African Cup of Nations. At a press conference, the Senegalese coach did not hesitate when he had to give his opinion on the best team between the Lions of Téranga and the Fennecs: “We lost two matches in 2019 (against Algeria, editor’s note), these are the matches that allowed us to win the CAN in 2022 and qualify for the World Cup. So, we learned a lot and since 2019 we have remade ourselves and qualified for all competitions. If we look at the journey of the two teams since 2019, Senegal is above. But we will have to show that on the field. What is also important to clarify is that tomorrow it will not be Djamel (Belmadi ) and I who will play, but we will be on the bench to push our teams.”

On the Algerian side, after beating Senegal twice during CAN 2019 (in groups then in the final of the competition), the Fennecs appear to be the bane of Aliou Cissé’s players, a situation which does not seem to bother Djamel Belmadi. On the contrary, the Algerian coach expects a lot from this friendly confrontation: “Playing here, with our series, the black beast, what happened in 2019, it is obvious that we will not escape the motivational speech of the coach. By choosing to come to Senegal, both teams must agree for the match to take place. When I give the green light, that’s what I have in mind, and I’m actually coming to get the climate, the humidity which was obvious when we got off the plane, the opposition, a full stadium, the feeling of revenge etc… All this is not surprising, that’s what I kindly research and which will allow us to learn lessons. It’s up to us to thwart all this, to face all this, and we will only come out of it stronger.”

The friendly match between Senegal and Algeria is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday September 12 at 9:00 p.m. at Abdoulaye-Wade in Diamniadio (Senegal).
