The Playstation Showcase this end of May will have spoiled all Marvel fans. Spiderman 2 will be released very soon and has a big surprise for PS5 players.

If we had to associate Playstation with a great franchise, it would undoubtedly be Spiderman. Since 2002, the Japanese brand has been publishing the adventures of Spider-Man in games more legendary than each other, and recently relaunched the machine with the release of Marvel’s Spiderman on Playstation 4 in 2018. Then, in 2020, Miles Morales joins the franchise for a game released for the release of the Playstation 5, and paving the way for the arrival of the multiverse in these very popular video games. Here we are today in May 2023, 21 years after the release of the first Spiderman game, and Sony had to mark the occasion during its Playstation Showcase. And the Japanese company has once again set the bar very high with the announcement of the release of Marvel’s Spiderman 2.

Peter Parker, Miles Morales, the Lizard, Kraven… All the actors come together to offer an epic adventure to fans of the series. The game will obviously take over the city of New York as the playground of our two heroes, with the arrival of the Symbiote as a huge surprise, which seems to have taken possession of our very dear Peter Parker. The game does not seem to offer a multiplayer mode for the moment, but remains formulated as an open world where our spider-men can move around as they please, swinging between buildings. On the gameplay side, we stay on a third-person camera with dynamic fights, enjoyable movements and dialogues that have some surprises in store for us. In particular with a Peter Parker clearly impacted by his collaboration with the Symbiote.

Marvel’s Spiderman 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet, but rather a window. Players can expect this sequel for the fall of 2023, while its developer Insomniac Games puts the finishing touches on a development that would have started almost five years ago. We will of course find the game exclusively on Playstation 5, no offense to PC players. For the latter, we can hope for a release a few months after that on PS5.
