The Olympic rugby sevens events will take place from July 24-30. Discover the full calendar.

Rugby 7s is a recent discipline of the Summer Games. Arriving in 2016 at King, the Paris Olympic tournament will be the third edition. Rugby sevens is played on the same field as rugby fifteens, and therefore the spaces are much larger. With two seven-minute halves, the match is also much shorter.

During the last Olympic editions, it was Fiji who dominated the men’s tournament, winning both gold medals. Among the girls, the Australians won the gold medal in 2016, while New Zealand were Olympic champions in 2021. The French then won the silver medal

For the Paris Games, the two French selections are aiming for the gold medal. The French, currently the third nation in the world, will have to beat the Australians and the New Zealanders, tournament favorites. For the men, the team can count on the reinforcement of none other than Antoine Dupont. The scrum half of the XV of France has already participated in several tournaments with the VII, including the first success of the French team since 2005 during the round in Los Angeles. All hopes are therefore allowed.

The men’s rugby sevens tournament will be played from July 24 to 27, 2024, while the women’s tournament will be played from July 28 to 30, 2024.

The rugby sevens events will be played at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis
