La Rochelle won its first European title in the Champions Cup this Saturday in Marseille by bringing down the formidable Leinster (24-21). A success hailed by Emmanuel Macron in a tweet: “A boiling Vélodrome stadium, a breathtaking final, and at the end of the day: a first European Rugby Cup for La Rochelle! Congratulations to the Maritimes who are climbing to the roof of Europe,” wrote the Head of State.
