The Remiremont hospital, in the Vosges, is the target of multiple complaints for accusations of negligence. 12 complaints have been filed since May 2022, including 8 for manslaughter.

Twelve complaints since May 2022. Here is the balance sheet of the Remiremont hospital (Vosges), cornered by accusations of negligence. According to Franceinfo, eight judicial inquiries are currently open. The stories seem quite similar according to the account of Nancy Risacher, the lawyer for 11 plaintiffs with RMC: “people have come to see me because they have lost loved ones in fairly opaque circumstances and they have not had nor information, respect or dialogue”. Eight complaints for manslaughter and two for research into the causes of death were filed.

The hospital’s communication crystallizes the criticisms. The testimonies agree on the impossibility of accessing medical records. A complainant testified to Franceinfo. According to him, “the hospital refuses to send him the medical records of his mother who died two years ago”, which prompted him to file a complaint. Contacted, neither the director of the Remiremont hospital nor the establishment’s lawyer responded to the requests.

Another told RMC that he learned after a year of the circumstances of his mother’s death. Hospitalized for three weeks for two broken ribs, this octogenarian died suddenly in July 2021. Then, in 2022, Paul, the son, “received from the Remiremont hospital, the letter which was intended for his attending physician ‘I regret to inform you that your patient died of septic shock due to a bacteria called Echerichiacoli (E-Coli)'”. Despite its repeated requests, the Remiremont hospital would never have agreed to transmit the medical file of this patient. The medical establishment did not wish to respond to the various media requests.
