Appointed in early December at the head of Manchester United to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick will not continue the adventure with the Red Devils. Initially called to become a consultant at the end of his season as an “interim” coach, the German will finally leave the club to focus on his role as coach of Austria, where he was appointed at the end of April.
“Following a mutual agreement, Ralf will focus exclusively on his new role as Austria national team manager and will not continue as a consultant at Old Trafford,” the club said in a statement. “We wish Ralf all the best for the new chapter of his career,” added the club, sixth last season and qualified for the next Europa League.
