A former masseur at the Ritz, Place Vendôme in Paris was indicted for rape and placed in pre-trial detention.
This Thursday, March 21, 2024, a former masseur at the Ritz spa was indicted for “rape” and placed under judicial supervision according to information from BFM. He was arrested on Tuesday March 19 by investigators from the first judicial police district (DPJ). Aged 33, he denied the facts before being confronted by the complainant. The management of the five-star hotel has already indicated that it “no longer operates” at the spa of their hotel and that it ensured “to collaborate transparently with the competent authorities in order to provide all the information available in its possession “.
At the beginning of March, the prosecution announced the opening of a preliminary investigation into rape. The complainant, aged 26, filed a complaint on January 24 after a massage session in the spa of the Parisian palace located on Place Vendôme in the 1st arrondissement of the capital. According to the young woman’s statements, the events took place during the massage session at the hotel spa where the masseur would have lingered on her chest before raping her four times.
“Parabolized and shocked” in her own words, she explains having “pushed away the hand” of the Ritz employee while he tried to touch her genitals again. The young woman then quickly left the palace and decided to file a complaint several days later, on January 24, after confiding in her loved ones.
