Clark, who had been best known for his role as Freddy Jones from the 2003 movie, died on Wednesday, May 26, after a deadly accident in his hometown of Chicago. Us Weekly confirmed the 32-year-old drummer was hurried to the hospital following a motorist hit him while he was riding his bike.

“He told his bandmates only yesterday: ” You knowthis is finally the life I wish to live. And we are going to make it. You’re my musical family — my family — and we are going to make it,” his mom, Allison Clark, told the Chicago Sun-Times after news of her son’s passing. “He loved songs. He’s just a raw talent. He has a heart of gold.”

Allison also remembered Kevin landing the role in the Jack Black picture when he was 12 years old.

“He was not an actor, was not considering becoming an actor,” she said, noting her son’s passion for music and playing the drums.

The proud mother added her son knew that he got the part after he watched that a New York number calling.

“He said he got the part and I asked him how he knew. And, sure enough, he got the role,” she clarified.

Kevin, meanwhile, shared his screenplay narrative during a 2013 meeting with 22 Vision.

“I went in there, said some traces, played a modest electric drum set, I left, and my mother decided to speak, as she does, for a very long time — God love her,” he explained before seeing Joey Gaydos Jr.. , who played guitarist Zack Mooneyham. “Because Joey went in about 20 minutes after my audition and did exactly the same thing with his lines, blew them away on guitar and then they came out.”

The late musician reunited with Black, who played Dewey Finn, a guitarist posing as a substitute instructor, in College of Rock in a 2018 concert.
