Samantha Markle is reportedly suing Meghan Markle, her half-sister, for defamation following the March 2021 CBS tell all interview between Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.
TMZ reported that Samantha, 57 claimed that Meghan, 40, lied to her about her family and friends during the sit-down. The Diary by Princess Pushy’s Sister author claimed that her sister made up stories about growing-up in “virtual poverty.”
Samantha claimed that her father, Thomas Markle, paid Meghan tuition to Northwestern University for the Suits alumnus’s college. This was despite Meghan’s claims that she worked to pay for college.
Samantha claimed that Meghan lied to her during the tell-all concerning the last time they saw each other, and when Markle changed her last name.
According to the outlet Samantha also claimed that Thomas, 77, was lying about Samantha so that they “couldn’t interfere with or contradict [she] false narrative and fairytale story [she] concocted.” Meghan allegedly accused of negatively affecting sales and causing her mental and emotional distress.
Michael Kump, Meghan’s attorney, retorted at the allegations and stated to TMZ that “this absurd and baseless lawsuit is just a continuation on a pattern of disturbing behaviour.” We will give it the minimal attention it deserves.
In her March 2021 interview, the Duchess of Sussex stated that Samantha had not seen her in “at least 18, 19, years.”
Samantha’s book Meghan was the subject of her silence. Meghan added a bonus clip to the sit-down and said that it would be difficult to “tell all” when you don’t really know me.
She said, “I grew-up as an only child. This is something that everyone around me knows. I wish I could have siblings.” I would have loved to had siblings.”
Inside Edition Samantha said that the truth had been completely ignored, and was omitted during the CBS special. She said that she didn’t understand how she could say “I don’t know her”, and that she was an only child. “We have photos of ourselves together over the course of our lives. How can she possibly not know me?
