Kylian Mbappé’s decision to leave PSG in the summer of 2024 follows the deterioration of relations with its president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, since the player’s extension in May 2022.

It is now clear to everyone. Kylian Mbappé will no longer be a PSG player at the end of this season. The French international will leave the French capital seven years after his arrival from AS Monaco where he exploded in the eyes of the world. On Instagram, he confirmed the information this Friday, May 10. “I wanted to speak to you. I had always said that I was going to speak to you when the time was right. I wanted to tell you all that this is my last year at PSG. I am not going to extend and I will end my adventure in a few weeks. I will play my last match at the Parc des Princes on Sunday,” he said.

He wanted to thank the different players and coaches he was able to work with during these many years in Paris. But no word for the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi with whom he maintains cold relations, according to L’Équipe. In mid-June, the newspaper revealed that Kylian Mbappé had officially informed PSG that he did not intend to exercise the option of one more year and that, as a result, his contract will end in June 2024. An announcement who would have surprised PSG. Tensions reached their peak on July 21, when the Parisian club announced that they would not take Kylian Mbappé for his tour of Asia. On August 13, 2023, PSG finally informed of his reintegration into the professional group without that an extension be officially announced.

The French international then announced his decision to leave Paris at the club the day after the victory against Real Sociedad in the Champions League last March. The football star’s destination is not yet known. But the main track leads to Real Madrid. The Spanish press claims that the player could commit there until 2029, for a lower salary than that of PSG. It is currently estimated at 72 million euros annually,  and various Spanish sources announce proposals ranging from 15 to 36 million per year.
