The release stated that a Springdale man was taken into custody yesterday for possessing and receiving material depicting child sexual abuse. According to court documents Joshua James Duggar (33), allegedly downloaded child sexual abuse material from the internet. Duggar was alleged to have this material, which some depict the sexual abuse of children younger than 12 years old, in May 2019.
Josh, the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, was taken into custody without bond. This news was made days after his wife Anna Duggar announced that they were expecting their seventh child .

Josh is not a stranger to controversy. In 2015, Josh made headlines after court documents revealing that he had molested five girls between 2002 and 2003. Four of the five were his cousins. He was between 14 and 15 years of age at the time.

My parents made arrangements for counseling for me and the people who were affected by my actions. I knew that if I continued on this wrong path, it would lead to my death.
After the revelation of Ashley Madison’s account, Josh and Anna’s marriage went through another difficult patch in August. After he sought treatment, the couple started counseling.

The Arrest
Us confirmed that Josh was taken into custody at the Washington County Jail in Arkansas on April 29.
The Hearing on April 30
Josh appeared via Zoom along with Justin Gelfand. He smiled as Justin Gelfand entered a not guilty plea for him.
The Bond
Josh is currently held without bond. However, he can request his release during a May 5 hearing.
Josh and his lawyer were told by the judge on April 30 that any third-party custodian they might consider would have to live in a residence where there are no minors. “So, you would all need to be searching for someone that can enforce the conditions of release and ensure that the court is satisfied that the home is safe from minors.
The Charges
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “Duggar was indicted with receiving and possessing child poinography.” The reality TV star faces up to 20-years in prison and $250,000 fines for each count if he is found guilty.
The Family Reaction
“We appreciate your continued prayers to our family at this point,” Jim Bob and Michelle stated in a statement to US via their family representative on April 30. “The allegations made against Joshua today were very serious. We pray that the truth will be revealed, regardless of its severity, and that all this will be settled quickly. We continue to pray for Anna and Josh.
Josh’s sister Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Weber, who aren’t on the best terms, issued a statement saying, “We just discovered this information yesterday. It is very tragic.”
Jinger duggar and Jeremy Vuolo then took to Instagram for a reaction: “We are disturbed by the charges against Josh. “While the case will need to go through the legal process, we want it to be clear that we strongly condemn child abuse and support the authorities and judicial processes in pursuit of justice.
May Hearing
After his May 5 virtual hearing, Josh was granted a bond release for May 6. However, the judge stated that Josh could not return to his home as “six minor children live in your house.” Other release conditions include unlimited contact with his children as long as his wife is present. He cannot be with any other children and will be monitored via GPS when he leaves his home confinement at Maria Reber and pastor Lacount Reber. He is allowed to go to church, work and get medical care.
A motion to delay sentencing
Us confirmed that Josh had filed a motion to delay his April 5, 2022 sentencing. His legal team claimed that they couldn’t schedule all necessary meetings due COVID-19 delays. The motion was granted by the judge, who moved the sentencing date to May 25, 2022.
