Is this a taste of the next Rugby World Cup? France (-20) and Ireland (-20) will meet in the final of the Worlds (U20) on Friday July 14.

Friday, July 14, the XV of France will challenge in the final of the U20 World Championships, the XV of Clover. Les Bleuets had a very good campaign to defend the trophy which has not escaped France for two editions. They have not lost a game and have surpassed rugby nations such as Japan, New Zealand, Wales and England. Against the XV of the Rose, the meeting was also badly embarked.

In the semi-finals, the English quickly led 17-0, after only 16 minutes of play. At half-time, they still had the advantage, leading 24-14. In the second half, however, the Bleuets were stunning, thanks in particular to Hugo Reus who scored 20 points in the game (including a try). In the end, they ended up winning 52 to 31. Against Ireland, it will also be very difficult. The Clover XV have been undefeated since July 5, 2022, just over a year and 11 games. In the semi-finals, the Irish also eliminated the host of this competition, the Springboks.

The match between France (U20) and Ireland (U20) will be played in South Africa, in Cape Town. The kick-off of the final is scheduled for 7 p.m. (French time zone).

The final of the U20 World Championships is broadcast by L’Equipe.

L’Equipe will broadcast the match between the XV of France (-20) and the XV of Clover (-20) in the clear, but also on its streaming platforms.

France U20 coach Sébastien Calvet unveiled his team ahead of the final against Ireland. The finishers will be Lacombre, Julien, Duchêne, Liufau, Castro-Ferreira, Carbonneau, Mondinat.
