The Guardians of the Revolution were hailed “the successful launch of ballistic missiles from the depths of the earth so totally camouflaged”.

the armed forces of the islamic Republic were drawn on Wednesday, ballistic missiles “from the depths of the earth” on the last day of military exercises in the waters of the Gulf, according to iranian media.

These missile firings are involved, a day after the Guardians of the revolution, the ideological army of Iran, referred to the mock-up of a us carrier near the strait of Hormuz, an important shipping corridor particularly for oil tankers.

images broadcast by State television showed bursts of flames, smoke and dust, and something that looked like four missiles rising into the sky from a desert.

Target “positions predetermined’

In a statement published on their website Sepahnews, the Guardians of the revolution have said that this was “the first time in the world” that such an exercise was carried out, without further detail. They have hailed “the successful launch of ballistic missiles from the depths of the earth so completely camouflaged,” according to them “a significant achievement which could pose serious challenges to the intelligence organizations of the enemy”.

the Guardians of the revolution have also indicated that they launched bombs from fighter-bombers Su-22 for target “- determined positions” on the island of Bani Farur in the territorial waters of iran. “These launches have been made without the platform and the usual facilities,” said brigadier general Amirali Hajizadeh, head of the aerospace branch of the Guardians of the Revolution, in a tv interview. “The missiles buried pierce suddenly the ground and hit their target with precision”, he added.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran

the exercises come at a time when tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to grow, in particular since the unilateral withdrawal in 2018 of the Member-States of the international agreement on the iranian nuclear issue and the recovery of u.s. sanctions against the islamic Republic.
