Because insulating your home is expensive, the Ministry of Ecology has validated a system allowing eligible people to benefit from insulation work for the symbolic sum of 1 euro.
Aiming to reduce energy poverty and help the poorest households to save energy, the “Energy Solidarity Pact” is a State mechanism allowing priority insulation work to be carried out. And if the beneficiary only pays €1, it is because energy suppliers are now obliged to offer individuals solutions to save energy thanks to the Energy Savings Certificates system. Energy which then allow the financing.
To benefit from this social scheme, you must meet certain conditions:
Insulation works at 1 euro concern lost attics, without surface limit, which are responsible for 30% of the heat loss of a house. To carry out the insulation, the delegated company generally uses blown mineral wool projected into the surfaces to be treated. It is a simple implementation that allows work to be completed in less than three hours. In the long term, we can thus note a reduction on the heating bill which can reach 25%.
To benefit from this system, you must make a request to the official organization of the Energy Solidarity Pact (Effy) and contact a company certified RGE (Recognized Guarantor of the Environment). Beware of scams: some companies present themselves as Pacte Energie Solidarité in order to offer poor quality insulation work or to collect personal information. So be aware that Effy recommends not responding to canvassing and specifies that neither the departments nor the regions offer this service. Offers for energy renovation works from 1 euro continue until 2020.
