HONOR MAGIC 5 PRO. Presented at the MWC show in Barcelona, ??the new Honor Magic 5 Pro is already establishing itself as a serious candidate for the title of smartphone of the year. Discover its price, features and release date.
With its next smartphone, the Honor Magic 5 Pro, the firm seems to want to impose itself on an already busy market: the high-end telephone. Presented at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona a few days ago, the Honor Magic 5 Pro already seems to have many qualities to shake the giants Samsung with its S23 Ultra and Apple with the iPhone 14 Pro Max .
The Honor Magic 5 Pro joins the small family already made up of the Honor Magic 5 Lite. The latter has already been available for several months at the introductory price of €379 in Europe.
Who says high-end smartphone says high quality components. In order to impose itself on a market dominated by Samsung and Apple, the Honor Magic 5 Pro intends to have great performance and an exemplary design. Although the next phone from Honor is only announced for the second quarter of 2023, it is already possible to know everything about it.
If you’ve been following the latest Honor smartphones for the past few years, the design of the Honor Magic 5 Pro shouldn’t surprise you. The latter takes up the idea of ??a camera in the shape of a circle on the back of the phone, as was already the case for the Magic 5 Lite. This rather protruding photo block is housed in a premium-looking glass back.
At the front, the Honor Magic 5 Pro has a 6.8-inch screen capable of displaying an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This rate allows you to have good fluidity in your games and apps, and can adapt to save your battery. Honor promises screen brightness of up to 1800 nits. A figure that impresses and promises excellent readability even in direct sunlight.
The Honor Magic 5 Pro’s selfie camera, on the other hand, is quite discreet. The front lens is integrated at the top left of the screen in a pill-shaped block that is reminiscent of the “Dynamic Island” of the iPhone 14.
It should already be noted that the screen of the Honor Magic 5 Pro has passed through the expert laboratories of the DXomark company. The latter then gave the score of 151, making the Honor Magic 5 Pro the smartphone with the best screen in the ranking (ahead of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra).
On the power side, the Honor Magic 5 Pro will be able to count on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The latest chip from Qualcomm is also one of the most powerful on the market and already equips the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra whose merits we have praised on the performance part. No doubt the Honor Magic 5 Pro will have excellent performance if the CPU optimization is well integrated into the phone.
For photography, Honor is again relying on a strategy of three lenses grouped in a large block on the back of the phone. These three cameras have already been reviewed by DXomark’s analysis lab and obtained the highest ranking score of 152, dethroning the Huawei Mate 50 Pro (with a score of 149) and the Google Pixel 7 Pro (147).
The three camera lenses of the Honor Magic 5 Pro are:
The Honor Magic 5 Pro will be available from €1,199 with a single 12,512 GB configuration. The Honor Magic 5 Pro intends to play in the big leagues, and this is reflected in its price. Like the S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the next phone from Honor will exceed 1000 € at launch, but with more storage than its competitors.
Pre-order offers will certainly be offered on the Honor Magic 5 Pro before its release. We will not fail to update this article with the various bonuses as well as the availability of the device.
