Fourteen Kenyan primary school children were Monday evening crushed to death after a panic broke out. At least 39 students was struck.

The tragedy took place in the town of Kakamega, in the western part of the country.

The children ran from their classrooms, down a flight of stairs, and then several students over the fall report, the Kenya Red Cross (icrc). According to The Daily Nation is attacked, some of the children, however, three floors down.

It is still unclear as to why there’s a panic has occurred.

Kenya’s vice president William Ruto said that a contingency plan has been activated for the injured as efficiently as possible and to be able to help you.

The Government has activated its emergency networks, and medical specialists to attend to the affected; and we guarantee our total support to ensure the affected learners receive far medical attention.
