FIRE FUTUROSCOPE. A fire broke out in a Futuroscope attraction this Friday, April 7, 2023. A video was shot at the time of the fright.
Wind of panic this Friday morning at Futuroscope. A fire broke out at an attraction in the park near Poitiers (Vienne). Around 10:30 a.m., a “Objectif mars” wagon arrived on fire in front of the queue with two women on board, TF1 revealed at midday. Panic then took hold of the premises, but the staff reacted very quickly by extinguishing the flames using fire extinguishers. A certainly life-saving reaction, even if the two people were injured. The first was hit in the ears and neck, while the other was hit in the tibia, says Le Parisien.
Very quickly, the origin of the brief fire was identified by the management of the park. According to her, it is a lithium battery which, located under one of the seats of the attraction, ignited, without the exact cause being known. “The battery caught fire at the end of the attraction’s route, the train continued its arrival at the station a few seconds later”, explained to the daily, Rodolphe Bouin, general manager of Futuroscope. This roller coaster attraction has been closed to the public but the rest of the park is still open.
