DISAPPEARANCE MALEK. Eight-year-old Malek disappeared in Dunkirk. The kidnapping alert plan has been triggered. What are the investigators’ leads?
Deep concern in the North. Malek Younes, 8, was probably kidnapped near Dunkirk on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. This Thursday, June 8, 2023 in the morning, the little girl had not yet been found. However, the suspicions turn around his father, Jamel. The man is the prime suspect in the child’s disappearance. The authorities seem to be particularly worried about the fate of Malek since the “Alert kidnapping” device was triggered on Wednesday evening.
According to information from BFM TV, the disappearance of the girl would have been noted by a grandmother, Wednesday at the beginning of the afternoon. This is the mother of a 29-year-old woman who was Jamel Younes’ current girlfriend (but not Malek’s mother). Without news of her daughter, she had decided to visit her. Upon arriving there, she would have discovered his lifeless body. The 30-year-old could have been killed by strangulation, the continuous news channel believes. Three children, ages 7, 2, and 7 months were at the scene, alive. However, 8-year-old Malek was absent.
BFM and RTL also claim that the police would have intervened at the couple’s home a few hours before Malek’s disappearance (Tuesday evening, therefore), due to verbal differences. However, officers reportedly saw no danger and no blows were fired. The Dunkirk prosecutor’s office has, at this stage, refused to comment on this information.
Several sources have transmitted to different media elements concerning Jamel Younes, the father of Malek. This one, of Tunisian nationality, is 40 years old. Above all, the man is very unfavorably known to the police and the justice system. He therefore had Malek from a first union with a woman now living abroad, a priori in Italy. He shared his life with a woman mother of three children, without it being known, at this stage, if he is the father or not. A woman he would therefore have killed according to the first findings.
If we do not know, for the moment, where Malek and his father Younès could be, the elements collected by the authorities seem to be sufficiently worrying. Indeed, an abduction alert procedure is not triggered at random and meets very specific criteria, including the one that must determine whether “the child’s life or physical integrity is in danger.” If the device has been triggered, it is therefore good that the public prosecutor has data that has enabled him to measure a high degree of danger on this issue.
Malek has long, black, curly hair. His eyes are black. The young girl is “likely to be in the presence of her father”, it is specified. Named Jamel Younes, Malek’s father is 40 years old. The man is 1.84 meters tall. In his description, it is stated that he has black hair, that he is of normal build. Jamel Younes has tattoos on his neck as well as on his wrist. It is also known that he is likely to travel in a green Renault Twingo registered DM 485 GJ, according to the authorities.
