Briton Ethan Hayter won the second stage of the Tour of Norway on Wednesday, which saw Norwegian nugget Tobias Johannessen steal the lead in the provisional general classification from Belgian Remco Evenepoel. Arriving fifth in the first stage on Tuesday, Hayter, leader of the Ineos team, concluded the 124 kilometers between Ulvik and Geilo with a victorious sprint, taking advantage of the stall of the best in the discipline released in the ascent to the Hardangervidda plateau.
In this grouped sprint, Dutchman Mike Teunissen (Jumbo) took second place ahead of Johannessen, who now sits at the top of the provisional general classification. On Thursday, the third stage will take the riders from Gol to Gaustatoppen, almost 176 kilometers which will end on a tough climb.
