Who from Croatia or Spain will succeed France this year? This Sunday evening, the two great nations of European football face each other in the final of the Nations League after having respectively eliminated the Netherlands and Italy in the semi-finals. By playing this important match for his country, Zlatko Dalic can win his first European title with the selection led by Luka Modric. In a press conference, the Croatian coach returned to the qualities of La Roja while motivating his players to achieve a feat: “We watched Spain’s four games with their new coach. Fast players, good management of the ball, quick passes. We know what’s in store for us, because we also have the experience of our match in Copenhagen during the Euros, where we lost. We know that Spain have great individuals and a great team in as a whole. They always try to do something extra, wonderful moves on the wings, we’ve seen all of that. We’ll do everything in our power to deal with that. If Croatia play as well as they did in the two last games, I think we can achieve great things, and compete with Spain of course.”

On the Spanish side, La Roja can lift a first title since Euro 2012. If Spain appears as the favorite of this final, Luis de la Fuente expects a very tight confrontation as he declared in a press conference : “Basically, it will be a very balanced match, with two great teams. If we are there, it is because today we are the two best teams in Europe. Everyone will play with their arguments. Each has their qualities .” The Spain coach took the opportunity to praise the two midfielders, Rodri and Luka Modric: “For me, they are two outstanding players. I have already said that Rodri was the best central midfielder in the world. And Modric is at the top of the world. They are two of the best in the world, and even more in their position.”
