This 37-year-old woman did not survive her injuries despite the best efforts of doctors. Carène Mezino, born Thibaut, was married. She was born in Champlat-et-Boujacourt, a town of less than 200 inhabitants in the Marne. His parents were farmers. His father died three years ago, according to La Voix du Nord and his brother took over the family farm.
Laurent Couvreur, mayor of Champlat-et-Boujacourt, paid tribute to Carène Mezino to the Union: “She organized lots of festivities, she was always present, smiling, pleasant, full of spirit with her parents and full of other people. She regularly came to see her mother who is retired in the village. I ran into her two or three days ago, she waved at me from afar with a big smile.”
Carène had been practicing for ten years at the University Hospital Center of Reims. She lived in Ville-en-Tardenois with her husband and two young children. According to TF1, she first returned to the hemodialysis department before joining the occupational medicine and health unit for hospital staff.
His colleagues gathered on Tuesday, May 23 to express their grief for their colleague. One of them spoke to the regional daily: “She was very sweet and very popular with everyone. She was a very small, good woman and a real ball of energy and sweetness!”
His attacker is a 59-year-old man with a serious psychiatric history. An investigation was opened by the public prosecutor, Matthieu Bourrette, for “assassination” and “attempted assassination” since a medical secretary was injured in this attack.
