It was a romantic relationship between the 16-year-old girl and a high school student of the same age that would have provoked the “fury” of her mother and older brother. The two suspects will be indicted.
After discovering that a 16-year-old girl and her boyfriend had been kidnapped in Reims, “a committal warrant was requested against the two accused,” announced Reims prosecutor François Schneider at a press conference on Friday May 10. This committal warrant concerns the young girl’s brother and mother. They are suspected of “kidnapping and sequestration without voluntary release” as well as “aggravated violence”.
The affair begins when the teenager’s big brother decides to search her phone. There he discovers images suggesting that his little sister is in a relationship with a young man, who will become the second victim. The brother decides to trap this high school student. The teenager, also aged 16, was then beaten unconscious in a car with five people, then was taken to an apartment where the violence continued. The young man was found on the public highway on the evening of May 5 with “a swollen face”, “a broken nose” and “a knife wound”. The teenager claims to have recognized the brother and mother of his girlfriend with whom he had just separated.
The teenager would have fled after being assaulted and kidnapped by her brothers and her mother in the family apartment, according to her statement at the Antony police station where she presented herself during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The young girl assures that her relationship with the abused teenager would have provoked the “fury” of her mother and her brother. Her mother allegedly spat on her, insulted her and threatened her with a knife. Accusations that the woman denies. The latter, however, admits to having cut her daughter’s hair. She also allegedly threatened to send her back to Chad, where she is from.
“We immediately realized that the young girl in question had been declared by her family on the school website as having gone on vacation to Chad, where they are from,” for three weeks, says François Schneider, Reims prosecutor.
The brother is already known to the police and wears an electronic bracelet for acts of violence. He admitted to having hit his sister.
