A 17-year-old teenager was stabbed on Tuesday March 26 as he was leaving Chartres station, we learned this Wednesday. His life-threatening condition is in jeopardy and the attacker has been taken into police custody.
On the evening of Tuesday March 26, around 6:45 p.m., a 17-year-old young man was attacked in the middle of the street in Chartres, in Eure-et-Loir, near the station, information made public by Le Parisian this Wednesday. The victim was stabbed three times before finding refuge in a bar on Avenue Jehan de Beauce. The attacker and an accomplice, two 16-year-old high school students, were taken into police custody. A woman who witnessed the scene came to the young man’s aid and called for help.
As Le Parisien indicates, the victim was treated by SMUR doctors and was taken to the Coudray hospital center. In a press release published this Wednesday, the public prosecutor of Chartres, Frédéric Chevallier, declared that “His vital prognosis was and remains in jeopardy”, to which he added: “He would have received three stab wounds which would have reached lungs”. As France Info specifies, a forensic examination is expected to clarify “the exact conditions of the blows received and their consequences”.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the high school student was leaving the Chartres station when two individuals “of an African type” according to the prosecutor, also high school students, began to pursue him. The latter explained in his press release: “One reached him on the avenue and, at number 9, stabbed him several times before joining his friend.” The two suspects then fled on foot.
Thanks to images from video surveillance cameras in the area, a “precise” description of the two individuals could be produced “quickly”. The prosecutor indicated that the two young people “were arrested a little later in the evening during a police intervention”. Mr. Chevallier added that the high school students had “taken refuge in a building hall, because they were being chased by others.” According to Le Parisien, the two young people aged 16 live in the municipalities of Lucé and Les Villages-Vovéens in Eure-et-Loir. The media adds that the two young people would already be known to the juvenile justice system. According to the prosecutor, it would be a “rivalry between young people from different neighborhoods, but we have to wait for the hearings”.
