The number of deaths due to the Covid-19 has doubled since the June 2 in the world and more than 100 000 new deaths have been reported in 17 days, from 26 July.
The pandemic of novel coronavirus killed over 750 000 people in the world since its discovery in China in December, according to a count conducted by the AFP on Thursday afternoon. Latin America and the Caribbean is the region most affected, with 228 572 deaths and almost half of the global deaths of Covid-19 have been registered in four countries : the United States (166 038), Brazil (104 201), Mexico (54 666) and India (47 033). In total, more than 20 667 684 cases were reported.

The number of deaths due to the Covid-19 has doubled since the 2 June and more than 100 000 new deaths have been reported in 17 days, from 26 July. There had been a delay of 114 days between the announcement of the first official death in China, and the census of 250, 000 deaths in the world, and then 55 more days to exceed the mark of half a million deaths, on June 28.
The situation is still critical in America
Latin America and The Caribbean region of the world most affected in number of deaths (228 572) and case (5 822 258), are still in the rapid progression of the pandemic with 18 627 new death of the Covid-19 recorded its last seven days.
