The world of Hogwarts Legacy is vast and extremely beautiful. However, traversing it on foot or on a quick trip can be boring. Here’s how to unlock flying in Hogwarts Legacy.
[Updated Feb 20, 2023 2:57 PM] Hogwarts Legacy has one of the largest open worlds in its class. Exploring the north of Scotland will take you a few moments in the new creation from Avalanche Software and Warner Games, especially if you plan to get around on foot. Luckily, the game gives you different ways to move around the map, Floo Powder that serves as fast travel, and three different ways to fly. This guide focuses on these last three modes of locomotion, which you will unlock as you progress through the game.
How to unlock brooms in Hogwarts Legacy?
If you’ve scoured the whole area of ??Hogwarts trying to find a way to finally approach the Hippogriffs or Thestrals, or even get your hands on a Hogsmeade broomstick, you soon realized that the task was complicated. Indeed, to access the flight in Hogwarts Legacy, you simply have to progress in the main quest until you reach the quest called “The Choucas” or “Jackdaw” in English. Once the quest is complete, Professor Kagawa will offer you to participate in flight classes. You will learn how to ride a broomstick and can then begin to travel the world of Hogwarts Legacy by air.
Note: You will find flight platforms all over the map in quite surprising places, easy to spot from the air. Feel free to get off your mount and activate these platforms by standing on them or throwing an Incendio.
A broom is good, but we would still prefer a Thestral or a Hippogriff, especially when you have the DLCs of the Collector’s Edition of the game. To unlock the Thestrals and Hippogriffs in Hogwarts Legacy, you will have to complete Natsai Onai’s optional quests. The little prodigy of Gryffindor will share with you her fascination with beasts and once the quest is completed, will give you the option of riding these wonderful steeds. Because without laughing, Hippogryphs and Thestrals are extremely fast. Be sure to check your in-game mail to regularly interact with the young witch.
