GP AUSTRIA F1. A week after an epic Grand Prix at Silverstone, the F1 drivers continue in Austria on the fast Spielberg circuit. Here is the TV program and all the schedules for this 2022 Austrian GP.

[Updated July 8, 2022 at 11:13 a.m.] F1 continues. A week after a spectacular Grand Prix in Great Britain on the Silverstone circuit, the 20 F1 drivers already have an appointment with a new round of the world championship: the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg. This GP will be contested on a format inaugurated last year with a sprint race on Saturday used to compose the starting grid of the race but which also brings “bonus” points to the world championship. The first 8 will take points: 8 for the winner, 7 for the 2nd, 6 for the 3rd and so on until the 8th. The qualifications for the starting order of the sprint race take place on Friday!

The weekend in England shuffled the cards and saw Ferrari catch up with Red Bull as Carlos Sainz claimed his first F1 victory after a race that left teammate Charles Leclerc with regrets. trapped by the Scuderia’s strategy. On home soil, Red Bull will try to regain control, Max Verstappen having had little taste of his 7th place at Silverstone. The Dutchman, reigning world champion, generally shines in Styria on a short, very fast route with his sequences of straight lines and hairpins in the 1st and 2nd sectors and sequences of curves in the 3rd sector. Mercedes, more lively in England, will he find favorable ground there to allow Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to get involved in the fight?

Free practice will start on Friday July 8, 2022 with a single session on the program, followed by a second session on Saturday after qualifying for Saturday’s sprint race.

The format of the weekend is a bit special since it includes a sprint race on Saturday July 9th. The pilots will then set off according to the classification of the qualifications which take place this Friday, July 8 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., French time.

Saturday, meet at 4:30 p.m. for the one-hour sprint race. The result will offer both points to the world championship and will also allow to start in a good position on Sunday during the Grand Prix.

The “real” Grand Prix will take place on Sunday July 10, 2022. The start of the race will be given at 3 p.m. this Sunday. Drivers will need to complete 71 laps of the Spielberg Circuit to see the checkered flag.

As in previous seasons, the Austrian F1 GP will be broadcast on Canal . All practice sessions, from the first free practice session on Friday morning, will be broadcast.
