Nominated in the Male Revelation category at the Victoires de la Musique, Pierre de Maere does not go unnoticed at any of his appearances.

Doctor, one day I will marry an angel. We’ll make love in the clouds. Praying that nothing will change… It’s been hard to miss those few sentences over the past few months. At 21, the phenomenon from Belgium has been swept up in his tracks: an NRJ Music Awards, more than 40 million plays for his flagship title, Un jour je marierai un ange and now, two nominations for the Victoires de la Musique in the prestigious category of Male Revelation of the Year and that of Original Song.

An irresistible ascent for the one whose first album, Look at me, was released just two weeks ago, on January 27th. Adored for his music and his personality or criticized for his style, as after his appearance in Daily, on TMC, Pierre de Maere intends to continue his momentum. No offense to his detractors.

Pierre de Maere d’Aetrycke, his real name, was born on May 24, 2001 in Uccle, Belgium. The youngest of three siblings, he is the son of a sound engineer, Xavier de Maere. It is very young that he is passionate about music and even begins to compose, barely a teenager. Completely self-taught, Pierre de Maere has never taken music theory or singing lessons. He plays piano and drums and is inspired by artists like Elton John. After trying to study photography, he returned to music and was spotted by Cinq7, a Wagram Music label.

In 2020, Pierre de Maere unveils two first songs, Regrets and Liar, before unveiling the title that will explode his notoriety: One day, I will marry an angel, released in November 2021. His career is launched, the nominations for the award ceremonies music falls and Pierre de Maere wanders from TV set to interviews in various media.

After being the first artist to win an NRJ Music Awards for Belgian Revelation in 2022, Pierre de Maere released Look at me, his first album, on January 27, 2023. On February 10 that year, the budding artist was nominated twice for the Victoires de la Musique, for the title of Male Revelation and Original Song of the Year.
