All the nominees for the UNFP trophies were revealed on Tuesday May 16 with a few surprises and questions.
Who will take over from Kylian Mbappé, voted best player in Ligue 1 last year? Quite honestly, it will be difficult to dethrone the Bondy striker this year despite Lens’ good season. His competitors are called Messi, Fofana, Openda and David. You will have noticed, no Alexis Sanchez, the Chilean striker yet very impressive with OM or an Alexandre Lacazette who flies over in a very average season for OL.
The best coach trophy will also raise questions with the absence of the probable coach of the French champions, Christophe Galtier. If we must admit that the French technician has not had an exceptional season with Paris, he should still win the title of champion of France. FYI, each L1 coach had to vote for five of his colleagues, Christophe Galtier did not get enough points to be included.
