The charismatic actor Ray Stevenson died this Monday, May 22, 2023 on the Italian island of Ischia. He was 58 years old. The daily La Repubblica evokes a “disease”.

[Updated May 22, 2023 9:37 PM] Ray Stevenson is dead. The actor’s death comes unexpectedly, to say the least. The actor, who would have celebrated his 59th birthday in three days, was indeed still on a film set lately. Known for his interpretation of Tito Pullo in the series Rome, Ray Stevenson died, according to the Italian daily La Repubblica, this Monday, May 22, 2023 while he had been hospitalized on Saturday afternoon. He suffered from a “disease”, reports the media which does not say more about this mysterious evil. According to La Repubblica, the comedian’s state of health would have deteriorated further this morning, shortly before his death.

For the past few days, British actor Ray Stevenson has been filming Cassino In Ischia directed by Frank Ciota, which explains his presence on the volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples. At this point, little additional information about the cause of Ray Stevenson’s death has leaked.

Born on May 25, 1964 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Ray Stevenson will therefore have made an impression by lending his features to Tito Pullo in the series Rome. He also played Isaak Sirko in the famous series Dexter, but also Blackbeard in Black Sails. In film, he is known for playing the character Frank Castle in Lexi Alexander’s Punisher: Warzone. Also starring in several blockbusters, he played the role of Volstagg in the Thor trilogy.

On the private side, Ray Stevenson was once married to British actress Ruth Gemmell (Utopia, The Bridgerton Chronicle), from 1997 to 2005. But since 2005, he was in a relationship with Italian anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia, met on the filming of the Rome series. Together they are the parents of three children: Sebastiano Derek (born in 2007), Leonardo George (2011) and Lodovico (2013).
