SMART ONE. After enjoying a long sunny weekend all over France, you will be quite numerous to take the road in the direction of returns on this Pentecost Monday, particularly in the north-west quarter of France.

[Updated May 29, 2023 at 6:30 a.m.] For all the French who left for three days on the occasion of this new long weekend in May, it will be time to think about going home. If you have been able to enjoy the sun, which has been present for several days on almost all of the territory, it will also accompany you on the way back on this Pentecost Monday. It will therefore be hot on the roads on this holiday classified as orange in the direction of returns by Bison Futé. But it is especially in the north-western quarter of the country that the greatest difficulties are expected. It is thus recommended to reach or cross the Ile-de-France region before 2 p.m. at the risk of then being stuck in traffic jams. Returns from Normandy via the A13 motorway will be numerous and the junction between Caen and the capital will be significantly slowed between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Between Le Mans and Paris, the A11 is likely to be quite busy from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. In Brittany, if you have chosen to take the national 165 between Quimper and Nantes, big slowdowns are planned by Bison Futé for a large part of the day (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). In the south of France, traffic should also be heaviest in the afternoon, such as on the A7 between Marseille and Lyon from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., on the A61 between Narbonne and Toulouse from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., or on the A62 between Toulouse and Bordeaux from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The site in charge of traffic information predicts very heavy traffic in the direction of returns on Monday.
