The 3rd stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné disputed this Tuesday, June 6 between Monistrol-sur-Loire – Le Coteau was won by the yellow jersey Christophe Laporte.

The only real opportunity for the sprinters, the 3rd stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné was well played in the sprint in the streets of Coteau in the Loire with the victory of Christophe Laporte ahead of the sprinters Bennett and Groenewegen. The stage was very long and without much interest. Only one man had taken to their heels in this stage, it was Frenchman Mathieu Burgaudeau. If he took the lead in the first difficulty of the day, he got up completely just after, having no interest in exhausting himself against a peloton which controlled the race.

Some highlights all the same during the stage. Demonstrators positioned themselves on the route at the beginning of the afternoon, at kilometer 91. The peloton slowed down and crossed the demonstration in a single file before relaunching quietly. Without the presence of any breakaway, the intermediate sprint was decided between Christophe Laporte and Julian Alaphilippe. The yellow jersey took 3 seconds in front of the Soudal Quick Step runner in order to consolidate his leader’s yellow jersey. A few minutes later, a big fall occurred at the back of the peloton, notably delaying Julian Alaphilippe who was again delayed 7 kilometers from the finish before coming back after a huge effort.
