During practice for the German Grand Prix, Frenchman Johann Zarco was hit and thrown through the air while his bike was literally cut in half. The images are impressive but the MotoGP rider was able to get up.

Testing for the German MotoGP Grand Prix, which is to be held on Sunday June 18 on the Sachsenring circuit, was marked by numerous crashes from the first sessions on Friday June 16. Among the pilots affected by these falls is the Frenchman Johann Zarco after an accident which ended miraculously without much damage. At least for the Ducati rider because his bike was totally destroyed during the crash!

Johann Zarco was the unfortunate victim of a combination of circumstances since he was actually hit by the motorcycle of another pilot, the Spaniard Marc Marquez who lost control of his Honda.

The motorcycle of the multiple MotoGP world champion then slipped on the asphalt to hit head-on the poor Zarco who was beginning his turn. The images broadcast by Canal are impressive. Earlier in the day, Japanese Takaaki Nakagami had already crashed and totally destroyed his Honda LCR.

After getting up, Zarco was able to return to his box and even took the handlebars of the spare bike to complete a lap. His first lap times had enabled him to validate his ticket for Q2, the second part of qualifying, scheduled for Saturday.
