The quarters devoted to Spain and Austria would a priori be affected. Some claim that the fire concerns the Diamond Cave, which is located between the two districts mentioned above. As relayed by France 3 regions, explosions were heard by visitors who were nearby, shortly before the start of the fire. Questioned by BFM TV, a visitor to the park believed that the attraction Les Rapides du Tyroll, also located in the Spanish quarter, was affected by the fire.
Anyway, at 7 p.m., park management announced that visitors could now return to their hotels. However, no reopening of attractions for the evening. The management of Europa-Park nevertheless specified that the park will be open tomorrow, Tuesday June 20, 2023.
