You can get your baccalaureate without having the average at the start. We explain to you how it is possible.
The baccalaureate… If it no longer seems to represent the same symbolic weight as before (recent testimonies of young people place obtaining the permit well before that of the baccalaureate in the rites of passage which they consider to be the most important! ), this sesame remains crucial. The school leaving exam is now 215 years old and many more or less proven theories circulate around its attribution. All the more so as the formalization of the baccalaureate verdict approaches, on July 4, for the approximately 700,000 candidates for this session in mainland France and in the overseas departments.
Among the gossip about the baccalaureate, we regularly find the idea that “To have 10.01/20 is to have a ‘given’ baccalaureate”. And this rumor turns out to be quite true. They are made up of teacher-correctors and are chaired by one of the teachers, under the responsibility of an inspector who supervises several juries.

High school students whose grade is below but close to the average are generally given a “boost” by raising them just above 10/20, which prevents them from having to catch up. And the note then assigned is the famous “10.01”. On a case-by-case basis, the harmonization jury may go so far as to upgrade a 9.2 to 10, for example, to avoid the repechage.
Please note that this does not mean that all students who narrowly exceed the average in their final baccalaureate mark have benefited from this boost.
