After more than a year of waiting, Call of Duty is back with the release of Modern Warfare 3. This homonymous sequel to the new arc of the license promises to be explosive.
After the explosive success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019, it’s hard to imagine Activision-Blizzard not going further in the development of their favorite license. The king of FPS, as it is often called, can still claim to be the most popular license in the corner of shooters, despite two recent Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 more than average. But once again, the hen with the golden eggs of the huge American studio must produce a new offspring, presented in the form of a very recent trailer that we show you just below.
The years pass my recipe does not change, or little for the famous FPS. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 presents itself like all its predecessors before it: a cocktail of action and plot-twists on a technical background that does not seem to change too much from previous titles. Because we must warn you, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 does not in any way intend to revolutionize the most popular formula in the world of shooters, but rather to be based on the solid format of its two predecessors. It is therefore difficult to imagine major changes for this highly anticipated novelty.
If it does not intend to innovate beyond its story mode, on the other hand Modern Warfare 3 wishes to play the card of nostalgia, by offering no less than 16 multiplayer maps upon its release. They will, as you will have understood, all come from the original 2009 game of the same name, and will come in the form of cards that have been completely remastered for the occasion.
Finally, to finish, you should know that two of the franchise’s most popular modes will also be part of the game’s release on November 10, namely War mode and Zombie mode. The first will compete with Battlefield by offering large-scale combat to players, while the second will offer a unique experience with “the largest map ever offered” in this parallel universe where the dead arise from the ground in unlimited waves.
If Modern Warfare 3 seems quite limited in terms of innovations, both in terms of its content and its technique, it remains one of the biggest releases of the year. And once again, Activision-Blizzard is opting for a winter release on November 10. The game will be available on next-gen consoles and PC, but also on PS4 and Xbox One, greatly limiting its graphical innovations.
