The southwestern regions will be the most affected. Storms initially scheduled for Saturday in these regions should ultimately prove less virulent than expected. Rather than rains, it is a scorching heat that will invade the territories. From Monday to Thursday, temperatures could fluctuate between 30 and 35°C, locally exceeding 40°C in New Aquitaine. These exceptional values ??could lead to an increased melting of snowfields in the high mountains, which represents a considerable risk for mountaineers and hikers due to possible landslides. The year 2020 saw a similar episode from September 12 to 19, with temperatures reaching 35°C in Paris and 36°C in Bourges. In 2016, a peak of 38.7°C was recorded in Biarritz. And according to the current forecast, it is quite possible that the coming week will approach these values.
