Thanks to good reviews and word of mouth, this German series has climbed into the top of Netflix’s most viewed programs, surpassing “One Piece” and “Tapie”.

In the midst of the constant tidal wave of streaming releases, it’s difficult to stand out. Especially in the face of some high-profile blockbusters, like “One Piece” recently. But from time to time, certain creations achieve audience miracles thanks to their intrinsic quality, good reviews and effective word of mouth.

This is how a German detective mini-series that no one saw coming has established itself at the top of the most viewed programs of the moment on Netflix. Since its release on September 7, 2023, “Chère Petite” has been in the top 10 audiences. From September 11 to 17, 2023, it even topped the most viewed series around the world in 51 countries, with 15.4 million views. It thus surpasses “One Piece” and its 10 million views this week.

In France too, “Chère Petite” was a real surprise success. The series was already in the top 10 since its release, but has only continued to rise in the rankings. This week, it also came ahead of the manga by Eiichiro Oda and “Tapie” which, in addition to being the novelty of recent days, has also been highly commented on. However, note that since September 18, “Tapie” seems to take first place in the French rankings.

It must be said that “Chère Petite” has been receiving praise from critics, but also from Internet users for several weeks. It is a psychological thriller adapting Romy Hausmann’s novel to the small screen, released in 2021.  Netflix subscribers can discover the terrible story of Lena, a mother imprisoned by her husband with her children, who manages to escape. ‘escape. But after a car accident, she wakes up in the hospital and finds herself confronted with an unsolved investigation. All six episodes of the series are still available on Netflix.
